water based activities
Equipment to facilitate water activities on site are only available to guests who book Ajabu on a full board, all inclusive basis. Therefore, if you book self-catering, we suggest that you either bring your own equipment or if you give us plenty of notice we can rent you equipment - see below. All indemnity forms must be signed prior to arrival.
As Ajabu is situated right on the lake there are a number of water related activities. Guests can enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha (where you can see some of the local wildlife, including hippos, buffalo, fish eagles and pelicans). Boat & qualified captain/guide can be hired in advance.
TENNIS*
Lake swimming, kayaking & SUP near the shore is the most relaxing and peaceful activities, especially when the lake is smooth. Kayaks (2) & SUP (x2) life jackets can be hired in advance. These activities MUST be supervised by a member of our House Team.
There is a tennis court on site, made with very loamy and light Naivasha soil mixed with Murram and molasses, which means it is not perfect but which kids, friends and families can use it to have fun hitting the ball around.
We have the rackets, you bring the balls.
* March 2022 - until lake levels return to normal our tennis court is underwater!
golf
The Rift Valley golf course is a lovely course and only 20 minutes’ drive from the house. You will need to pay fees at the pro shop, and then you can enjoy a round of golf with the zebras and wonderful views!
Please see www.heritage-eastafrica.com for more info.
